  • Published on

SRL is part of the consortium that has been awarded a Horizon2002 ICT (Research and Innovation action) grant. The project is titled: EDEN2020 (An Enhanced Delivery Ecosystem for Neurosurgery in 2020).EDENLogo

EDEN2020 aims to develop the gold standard for one- stop diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment in neurosurgery. EDEN2020 will provide modelling, planning and delivery of diagnostic sensors and therapies to the brain via flexible surgical access, with an initial focus on cancer therapy. It will engineer a family of steerable catheters for chronic disease management that can be robotically deployed and kept in situ for extended periods. The consortium members include: Imperial College London (UK), University of Milan (Italy), Vita-Salute San Raffaele University (Italy), TU Munich (Germany), Xograph Technologies (UK), University Medical Center Groningen (Netherlands), Polytechnic University of Milan (Italy), Renishaw (UK). The research will be primarily conducted at our lab in UMCG, and will focus on the developing methods to sense the shape of flexible instruments and sensor fusion. We are truly excited to join the consortium and work on EDEN2020!
